GPS
GPS, or Global Positioning System, is a satellite-based navigation system that provides location and time information anywhere on or near the Earth’s surface. It works by using a network of satellites that orbit the Earth, transmitting signals that are received by GPS receivers, such as those found in smartphones, cars, and other devices.
GPS technology allows users to determine their exact geographic coordinates (latitude, longitude, and altitude) with high accuracy. This information is used for various purposes, including navigation, mapping, tracking, and timing synchronization. GPS has become an integral part of modern technology, enabling precise location-based services and applications in everyday life.
