Accelerometer
An accelerometer is a sensor commonly used in electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and wearables to measure acceleration forces. These forces can include both static forces like gravity and dynamic forces from motion or vibration.
The accelerometer detects changes in velocity or orientation of the device in three-dimensional space. It can measure acceleration along three axes: X, Y, and Z. This data is then used by the device’s software to perform various functions, such as screen rotation, gesture recognition, activity tracking, and gaming control.
Accelerometers play a crucial role in enabling features like auto-rotation of the screen when the device is tilted, tracking physical activity and steps in fitness apps, and enhancing gameplay experiences by detecting movement and gestures.
