Gyro
A gyro, short for gyroscope, is a sensor used in electronic devices to measure and maintain orientation and angular velocity. It works by utilizing the principles of angular momentum and rotation to detect changes in orientation and rotation rates along three axes: X, Y, and Z.
Gyroscopes are commonly found in smartphones, drones, aircraft, and other devices where precise orientation sensing is required. They play a crucial role in stabilizing devices, enabling features such as image stabilization in cameras, motion sensing in gaming controllers, and maintaining stability in drones and aircraft.
In smartphones, gyroscopes are often used in conjunction with accelerometers to provide more accurate motion tracking, gesture recognition, and augmented reality experiences. By detecting rotational movements, gyros enhance the overall functionality and usability of modern electronic devices.
